Been doing more thinking about why movement is important in my latest bodies of work. It’s not just movement but time, rhythm and pattern. I think it distills down to this – geometry.

As a kid I was really good in math and when we got into geometry I just got it instantly – loved it – always had my hand up to give the answer. I’m sure the teachers were tired of me. But again and again I see geometry at the heart of my exploration.

Another important aspect is tone. I view tone as elemental in music which again I have a strong childhood and continuing affinity for. For me tone encompasses colour as well as texture and gradient.

Geometry and tone combined are integral factors in all my images.
