I have a mental image of how I would like my daily existence to be. I call it breathtaking blue. Part of it came from a passage from a series of stories by Kathleen Goonan about nanotech and another part from a song by Alphaville. This website, blog and body of work are my first serious steps into the Breathtaking Blue.

It embodies a calm state of mind where I am able to explore ideas, work synergistically in a relaxed no pressure environment with access to all the tools I might need. In a way I have been working toward this for the better part of my life now, although it wasn’t until recently that I named and more fully described it as such.

Just thinking about it makes me calmer. Knowing that I am getting closer to that state and that I have a clear goal in mind enables me to make decisions and plans. It may not sound like much and I’m really not describing it well, but the ability to dream, imagine and explore without the fetters and constraints of guilt, debt and doubt make my heart soar.

I am excited to think that I am another step closer with the realization of this website – enabling me to publish my images as I produce them for any and all who care to see and enjoy them. Trust me, this is a drastic change from quietly working alone in a dark basement studio every day showing images to small groups of people at exhibitions a few times a year.

Enjoy, I know I am.
