Just got back from a week of vacation back country canoe camping at Bon Echo provincial park – Northeast of Belleville. There was one night I got up at 2am while everyone was asleep – there was no wind, the fire was out, it was so quiet except for the steady hum of insects and frogs in the distance.
I stood there in the cool night air under the pine trees staring up at the milky way and all the stars in the sky and in that moment I remembered part of why I go out there – part of why I like to spend time outside. It reminds me of the immensity of everything – humbles me. It is easy for me to get wrapped up and consumed by what I’m working on that I forget how tiny I am.
